In 1947 when Enea Buzzi and his cousin Achille Savinelli, whose father Carlo ran a shop for smokers in Milan, decided to produce pipes. A common agreement was to sell pipes with the Savinelli name, taking advantage of the notoriety of the shop which at that time was well known. They founded a factory in Brebbia, a place already known for the manufacture of handcrafted pipes inlaid or depicting faces of historical figures and animals. Both began without much experience, but with the intention of competing in a market, that of the time, where the other manufacturers they branded their pipes "real briar" due to the general skepticism of buyers who considered the price insufficient for pipes made from tree briar. The 90s were characterized by an incredible boom in the cigar which, starting from the United United, it spread to Europe and became a real trend. But like all fashions, that too ended, and the smokers who had switched from the pipe to the cigar, reversed themselves with greater respect having already assimilated the cigar culture.
